Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon Bragg olive oil

  • 1/4 cup yellow onion, finely chopped

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and minced

  • 2 cups ketchup

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1 /2 cup Bragg apple cider vinegar

  • 1/4 cup apple juice

  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup

  • 1 tablespoon Bragg liquid aminos

  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seeds

  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne

  • 1 /2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

In this recipe:

  • Heat Bragg Olive Oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion, garlic and jalapeño pepper and cook for about 4 to 5 minutes or until onion is translucent.
  • Add ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, apple juice, honey, Bragg liquid aminos, celery seed, cayenne, salt and pepper. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally.
  • Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 30 minutes.
  • Use immediately, or refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 1 month.
