SANTA BARBARA NUTRITIONIST TO SPEAK
ON LONGEVITY AND ANTI-AGING

Patricia Bragg with Dr.John Westerdahl

Santa Barbara, CA– Nov. 2, 2010 — John Westerdahl, PhD, RD, longevity and nutrition expert and the director of Santa Barbara’s Bragg Health Institute, will be presenting a free seminar, Friday evening, 7:00 PM at the Santa Barbara Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 425 Arroyo Road, Santa Barbara.

Dr. Westerdahl, who is Board Certified as an Anti-Aging Health Practitioner through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, will be discussing the latest information on how nutrition and lifestyle can contribute to health and longevity.  Westerdahl will show pictures of healthy people who live in various “cultures of longevity” throughout the world, who live up to 120 years of age.  “It is possible, that a healthy diet and lifestyle can be the key major factor to help people live to be over a hundred years of age and die of “old age” instead of disease,” states Westerdahl.  “Certain types of diets and foods contribute to longevity and actually have anti-aging attributes,” he adds.  Westerdahl will discuss several of the foods that scientific research indicates can contribute to anti-aging.

The free seminar will be appropriately held at the Santa Barbara Seventh-Day Adventist Church, as years of epidemiological studies and a cover story article that appeared in National Geographic Magazine as well as a special segment on The Oprah Winfrey Show a few years ago, have identified the Seventh-Day Adventist population as one of the healthiest and longest living populations in the United States.  The seminar is the opening presentation of a free community conference and workshop called, “Living Well & Dying Well.”

The energy and vitality of a young child can be yours at any age when you choose to follow Mother Nature’s and God’s Eternal Laws of Life. Following this System provides you with the vitality of youth, because youthfulness is Internal Purity! Total Health is not a matter of age, but it’s a matter of Internal Perfection!

My father, when heading towards a century, was physically younger than a fit man of 40! We do not live by calendar years. We live in biological years and this is what counts! How clean are your arteries and veins? How are your blood pressures? Ours are 120 over 60 like healthy youngsters. We both have a steady, strong pulse of 60. We have strong eyes and ears that hear every sound. We are not interested in birthdays (forget them)! We love living our Bragg Healthy Lifestyle which keeps us internally cleansed, healthy and youthful!

You will reap the same benefits my father and I enjoy when you seriously follow this Toxicless Diet, Body Purification and Healing System! But you must be faithful every day and be the healthy captain of your life! This is not a fad diet — most diets are “yo-yo” diets where your weight just goes up and down! The Bragg Healthy Lifestyle is something that becomes a part of you and your daily lifestyle and it’s not a diet per se — but a lifelong lifestyle for super health and longevity!

We want you to live a long, healthy, happy, fit life! Decide daily that you want to feel strong, vigorous and that you will banish your aches, pains and tiredness! It’s up to you! We pray nightly for all our friends and Bragg readers to be guided down the righteous path of healthy living through these written words — that never tire and can be with you night or day — just for the reading!

Live Longer Breathing Clean Air Deeply

We advise those who live, work, etc. in smog-ridden, polluted cities to obtain a good air filter. We especially recommend filters which contain charcoal and a high efficiency particulate HEPA air filter. The charcoal removes most of the chemicals and the HEPA filter removes most of the particles. To be effective in an average room, the flow rate through the filter should be over 200 cubic feet of air per minute. The wise motorist will also install an air filter in his car for cleaning the air while driving in air-polluted cities. Auto stores and catalogs usually stock them.

When we are born, our lungs are new, fresh, clean, and rosy in color. If we could live in a dust-free atmosphere breathing deeply all our lives, then our lungs would remain as good as new for a long, healthy lifetime of use. Yet most people abuse their lungs! Some of this comes from external causes. The lungs are the only organs of the body which are directly affected by external conditions, specifically, the air we breathe into them! Mother Nature has provided protection against a normal amount of dust contamination: tiny hairs in the nose serve as filters and moist mucus in the passages leading to the lungs traps dust particles that we expel through the nose or mouth. The tonsils also serve as guards to trap germs. The lungs protect themselves remarkably well by expelling carbon dioxide through oxygenation and by discharging toxins into the blood for elimination via the kidneys. Your body is a miracle!

Unfortunately, most civilized people today live in very unnatural conditions. Almost everywhere there are abnormal amounts of pollutants in the air we breathe, especially in urban areas. Our lungs are often overloaded with more contaminants than they can handle. These are passed along into the bloodstream and to other parts of the body. The lungs of a modern city dweller become brownish from car smog, soot, etc. Even in most farming areas, the lungs must contend with pollens, excessive dust, poisonous pesticides, fertilizers and other toxic chemicals. A California study shows that 275 people die yearly in smog-riddled L.A. areas from smog. They estimate soon this figure could be triple that amount annually!
