MILLIONS of CHILDREN HAVE HEARING LOSS FROM LOUD MUSIC in EARBUDS

A recent US study from Journal of the American Medical Association shows that loud music that kids listen to through their Earbuds might be causing severe hearing loss.

This growing trend is terrifying and many children in this age group (12–19) probably don’t realize how much damage they are causing to themselves. Let’s teach our children to turn down the music and remind them that our ears are just as important as any other part of our body.

Costco has recently opened Hearing Aid Centers in all there stores and offer free hearing tests.

Hearing loss may be cause by many different conditions and if you notice that your child have hearing loss or has ear aches you should see a doctor right away.

If you or your child has been diagnosed with ear infection you can use a few drops of diluted Organic Apple Cider Vinegar in each ear 2 times a day.

Popular cartoon characters are influencing the taste preferences of very young children, and not in a positive way, a new study suggests.

Researchers found that the branding of American food product packaging with characters such as Dora the Explorer drives preschoolers to choose higher-calorie, less healthful foods over more nutritious options.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has issued new policy guidelines calling for children as young as age 1 to receive swimming lessons, depending on how often they are exposed to water and judgments made by parents about their maturity.

The AAP says its existing recommendation had been that most children age 4 and older should learn to swim, but now is “more open” to the idea of classes for younger kids.

Obese Kids More Vulnerable to Bullies

Children in grades three through six who are obese are more likely to be bullied than their normal-weight peers, a new study has found.

No one who has attended grade school—or who has even the slightest familiarity with children—will be surprised by these findings. What is surprising, however, is that obese children are bullied more often even if they possess qualities that can discourage bullies, such as having good social skills or doing well in school.

The obesity epidemic is hitting children harder than ever, with 7.3 percent of boys and 5.5 percent of girls classified as extremely obese in a California study, researchers from Kaiser Permanente report.

The news is even worse for black and Hispanic kids: Among black teenage girls, 11.9 percent were classified as extremely obese, as were 11.2 percent of Hispanic teenage boys. Extreme obesity among children is defined as weighing more than 1.2 times the 95th percentile, or having a body-mass index (BMI) of 35 kilograms per meter squared.
