HEALTH ISSUES RELATED TO COFFEE

“I have never had a cup of coffee and do not recommend it.” Dr. Patricia Bragg

In the video below, Patricia Bragg’s good friend John McDougall, M.D. talks about the health issues associated with drinking coffee.

This is what Dr. Paul Bragg has to say about drinking coffee and tea:

Coffee and Tea Are Drugs:

They are drugs as surely as are the powerful poisons, the only difference being that they are slower in their action. Caffeine, which is found in coffee, will wreck the nervous system just as far as morphine though it takes a little longer.

Like many drugs, caffeine has a stimulating effect on the nervous system, with the same ultimate reaction of depression and nerve exhaustion leading to complicated diseases.

Tea also contains tannin, which hardens the tissues and veins and has other harmful effects on the system.

You do not have to drug your body if you eat live, natural food. When you are in good health, the natural food is all the stimulation necessary, and leaves no reaction of depression.

There are however, several substitutes for coffee and tea. Mint tea is, I believe the finest. I drink it regularly myself in preference to all other hot drinks. Postum is an acceptable substitute. i do not approve of decaffeinated drinks.

  1. Hi Amanda,
For health concerns I recommend consulting a professional health care or a licensed alternative medical provider. As an alternative to coffee I suggest mint tea.
Blessings of peace, love and health!
    Patricia
